Global Search and In-App Notifications

Purpose

• Search: Find anything quickly without clicking through menus.
• Notifications (bell): See what happened recently — payment recorded, exam published, pickup scanned, etc.

Who uses it

All staff roles with login access. Students/parents see limited search results.

How to search

• Click the small magnifier circle in the top bar (it expands).
• Type at least 2 letters, e.g. Marie or INV-2025.
• Click a result to open that student, invoice, or page.

Notifications

• Red badge = unread count.
• Click an item to open the related page; it marks as read.
• Mark all read clears the badge.

Your School Admin can turn off certain alert types under Configuration → Notification Settings → In-App (Bell) column.

Common questions

Q: I paid fees but parent says no SMS.

A: SMS is separate from the bell. Check Configuration → Notification preferences → Payment Received → SMS is ON, and the school has SMS credits.
