Student Attendance (Hardware / RFID Gate)

Purpose

Automatic check-in when student taps card at gate — no manual typing.

Who uses it

Gate devices (configured by IT); results viewed by Admin/Teachers.

Depends on

Student RFID/NFC UID in profile, Configuration school timings, HARDWARE_SECRET set by IT, SMS preferences for arrival messages.

Flow (simple)

• Marie taps card at gate 07:55
• System records Check-In
• Parent receives WhatsApp: *"Marie arrived at Green Valley at 07:55"* (if enabled)
• Marie taps again at 15:10 → Check-Out / Departure message

Common questions

Q: Double tap too fast shows error.

A: Increase Double Tap Wait Time in Configuration (e.g. 15 minutes between IN and OUT).
